I’m going to get a little cheesy here for a minute and just say that Hermione Granger was the literary character who most shaped who I am as a person today. She made it okay for seven-year-old me to be a huge nerd (and, yeah, an insufferable know-it-all). She was constantly running to the library and constantly saving Harry and Ron’s asses. Hermione Granger is a straight-up badass and, if I’m ever lucky enough to have a daughter, I’m going to give her the Harry Potter books at age seven so hopefully she’ll learn the same lessons J.K. Rowling taught me.
